Discount Money, and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Wealth, Health, and Happiness
The material is the same, nothing new, same law of Attractions, but slanted to make you RICH. whatever, you can't fool the laws of the universe. God aka the universe knows our heart, our motives. You are greedy and want for selfish gain because your unhappy and miserable now and just want to be rich....you wont be.
I also dont believe that some dude or infiite intelligence who calls himself "Abraham" channeled this to the author, as she claims, but neither here nor there.
The Laws of Attraction are a very good teaching on how the universe works, but as usual, man comes along and distorts it, adds to it, plays on your lusts, just typical nonsense.
If this book was called "Understanding the laws of attraction" it wouldnt sell merely as well, but add this joke of a title to it and it sells. next they will do "laws of attraction in finding the right woman or man".
If you want a good indepth study on this subject, I dont care for author as much either, but Kevin Trudeas "Your Wish is your command" was very surprisingly well done (except for the last cd, inwhich he just went on about joining his website).
Buy that set, its much much much better. This one is for kids.......they come off telling about their wealth trying to impress you, even tho they made all their money from selling this crap for years and saying it comes from a divine source. Anyone can read some of the books and then make one, heck maybe I will. If suckers are out there to buy this rubbish, I know I can make a much better book.Get more detail about Money, and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Wealth, Health, and Happiness.

Purchase The Miracle of Mindfulness
Unfortunately, I had to read this book in Danish translation, since the library wouldn't get it for me in English (I can't buy all the books I read). The English version is a translation from the Vietnamese, the author Thich Nhat Hanh being a Buddhist monk who wrote the book in 1974 as a letter to a teacher at a social school in South Vietnam from his exile in France.
The book exhorts the reader to mindfulness, i.e. to live in the "now", as Echart Tolle directs us to do, and explains how to do so. When you do the dishes, you don't do so to get them clean, but just for the sake of doing them. You do them with mindfulness and love for the process.
The author's words (even in translation) are imbued with peace and calm, and I found myself reading the book more slowly than I otherwise might have done.
Thich Nhat Hanh's text is inspiring and useful. Its essence is his advocacy of the importance of breathing exercises in order to obtain mindfulness, and innumerable of these are found in a subsequent section on mindfulness exercises as a whole.
A chapter enlightens us about the author Nhat Hanh who at the time of writing what turned into the book was committed to explaining to the Americans the necessity of stopping the bombings and killings in his country. He is a poet and Zen Master.
The final sections of the book are devoted to a selection of buddhist Sutras, which I couldn't really make head or tail of.
But all in all, an admirable book - a good introduction to mindfulness meditation.
I will now be trying to obtain other works of this author, preferably some that have not been translated into Danish, so I have a better chance of getting hold of them in English, for instance, "The long road turns to joy".

Order A Grief Observed
First of all, I should note that I read an older edition of the book without the forward.
Some reviewers have noted that the book helped them through grief while others felt otherwise. I will leave those opinions to be discussed by those who have had more experience with them and will consentrate on the book's revelation of Lewis as a person.
"A Grief Observed" is at times a powerful and emotional look into C.S. Lewis's grief after the loss of his wife to cancer. Lewis had seen suffering before, he had lived through the Western Front in WWI, but Gresham's death may have been the greatest blow of his life. His journal captures some of his reconsiderations of faith, inner sorrow, and finally a return to faith. Overall a concise and interesting personal story of dealing with grief.Get more detail about A Grief Observed.

Shop For Making Babies: A Proven 3-Month Program for Maximum Fertility
I'm 36 and my husband is 38 and we're just getting started with our plans for a family. This book is a great resource with information on what to do before you start trying to conceive as well as where to turn if conception is a problem. We are at the very beginning of the process and plan to take the next three months to improve our diets and habits and let my body get back into its natural cycle after 15 plus years on birth control. Making Babies: A Proven 3-Month Program for Maximum Fertility gave me just the information I needed on what to avoid and what to add to my diet and lifestyle and also went a long way in explaining the natural process that my body goes through each month.
It also helped assuage my fears if, when we start trying, I don't get pregnant easily. I would definitely recommend this for women thinking about having a baby - wherever you are in the process.

I have high praise for Kevin Trudeau's Natural Cures book. It's a must read for anyone who is concerned about their health, and believes government agencies are only concerned about their money. Between the FTC, FDA, Big Pharm, Insurance industry, and congress, if we're not proactive about our health, we will continue to be victims of the corrupt and greedy above agencies and entities. Kevin's book shows a common sense method of staying healthy, and lists natural cures for many ailments. It's a fascinating book, easy and fun to read, and extremely informative. How to Take the Grrrr Out of Anger Best Quality
I bought this for my son, who is a VERY sensitive boy and feels very deeply. When he gets upset or sad about something, it is intense. This book was written just for him. He is seven, and related very well to it. (He is a deep, thoughtful thinker, and an advanced reader, so I'm not sure it would be on the level of an average 7 year old)) We read it together, a chapter at a time, and then he asked to keep it in his room. I notice that the bookmark moves around in the book from time to time. Occasionally we talk about it and it seems to really be making a difference for him. I love how it is written, and I cannot lie, I go in and read it for myself as well. It is simple and straightforward, and I love the simple yet true thoughts and solutions. It has helped me as well.Get more detail about How to Take the Grrrr Out of Anger.

The Shift: Taking Your Life from Ambition to Meaning Order Now
I am a Wayne Dyer fan so I buy everything he writes and this was another great book for me. I know to some he got weird but to me he has an understanding of life that makes, or would make the world a better place if we tried following it. In this work (there is also a movie which I have but haven't watched yet) he talks about the shift we can make in life from where we are today to a meaningful life. Sounds easy but it certainly isn't. It is laid out in just four chapters. The first is 'From' meaning where we came from with very logical and spiritual discussion. The second Chapter is 'Ambition' which is really interesting; then 'To' and ending with 'Meaning'. Interesting, thought provoking and well worth studying.Get more detail about The Shift: Taking Your Life from Ambition to Meaning.

Eye of My Heart Decide Now
Do you have doubts about your role as a grandmother? If so, this is the book for you. The stories of the grandmothers in this book will speak to whatever type you are - be it a far away grandma, an estranged grandma, a Norman Rockwell grandma, or any of the many other types of grandmas in today's world. You will learn that you are not alone in worrying about how to deal with your grandchildren and most importantly - their parents. I highly recommend this book to all grandmothers.Get more detail about Eye of My Heart.
The Paradox of Choice Right now
This book would have been better off being a pamphlet someone can pick up, flip through & then throw away (or recycle if you want to get as butt-hurt as Barry Schwartz).
His initial story of buying a pair of jeans should really serve as a warning for the rest of the book. If the gentleman writing the book has trouble grasping the fact that jeans are now made to fit more body-types comfortably, he must lack some common sense of how a competitive market works. (If you manage to see him speech on [...] you can notice that even for a filmed presentation he chooses to dress like a slob. Furthering the point that he seems like a grumpy old man attempting to keep up with change, all while fumbling.)
Most of the statistics presented in the book come across as "fluff" and would cut out at least 20 pages. I'm not the least bit interested in the 300-some cookies and crackers he counted at his supermarket.
It could be the way he presented his arguments, but a lot of it seemed like common sense. His interpretation of the average consumer is as frightening as it is concerning because it gives a bleak outlook of the future of humanity.
Although I make it seem like I would slap his head into a table if I had the chance, he did ignite a fire within me as far as disagreeing and disliking the book. With that, I award him with two-stars.Get more detail about The Paradox of Choice.

Cheapest Out of the Shadows Third Edition
This book was recommended by our marriage counselor for my husband. He refused to read it.. but I did. Unfortunately, or fortunately.. we are now divorcing. This book helped me to see a pattern of behaviors that were presented by my husband. It offered a written understanding of his past and behaviors. Buy Intended for Pleasure
This book is boring and is filled with inapplicable situations for us and just didn't have hardly anything we found to be helpful in preparing us for marriage. I hope that Christians start to really talk about sex honestly and openly to help each other, b/c there are a lot of couples struggling and hurting w/ nowhere to turn except books like this one that just aren't that practical or helpful. In that spirit, I am going to share our story and hopefully it might help someone else out there. My husband and I are Christians...unfortunately we had sex w/ each other in college before we got married, but we repented and stopped and so we were excited about our honeymoon night to say the least. We had this book with us but didn't think we'd need it since we already knew "it worked." Well, our wedding night was a disaster in the sex department. It didn't even work! We both panicked. The rest of the honeymoon wasn't great either and I was frantically reading this book for help and we didn't find much b/c sex hurt me very bad and we had no idea why. After months of worrying and our situation only getting worse, I went to a gyno to see if something was wrong. She said that birth control can cause "dryness," and sex just doesn't work if you have that problem and it can be so dry that any lubricant isn't going to help...and that was my situation. So I got off birth control, we were prego 2 months later and we started to have wonderful sex. So 6 years and four precious children later, here we are, I will never touch birth control hormones again b/c I believe they are unnatural and horrible for a woman's body and know many wives who feel the exact same way about it. I also know Christian people who have gotten divorces a year or less after getting married b/c sex on birth control simply didn't work, but kids weren't an option. We had no idea. So I don't know what book would have helped us back then, but now we are reading "When Two Become One" by McCluskey and LOVE it and are about to read "A Celebration of Sex" by Rosenau...we just need a refresher course and reminder on the purpose of God's creation of sex and some how-to helpfulness b/c we've never had a "regular" sex life with my being pregnant so much...and we've never had anyone to talk to about our "issues." I never would have dreamed that this would be the path our lives would take but I couldn't be more thankful as it's taken the focus off me...at first that was miserable, but now it is so much more rich and fulfilling a life as it's not all about me anymore...which may have been God's purpose all along ;)Get more detail about Intended for Pleasure.

The 21-Day Consciousness Cleanse Top Quality
Debbie Ford takes you on an amazing journey if you make the commitment, meaning you promise yourself to find a quiet place and read a chapter a day and do the exercises.
By doing the exercises, you will clean out a lot of old garbage in the basement of your life and be okay with choices you've made. You will then have the desire to move on and connect with your souls deepest expression of what you were meant to do and be.
You will discover there are a lot of things in life that are both positive and negative, like the ego and the souls desires. The ego is like a marching band that tries to drown out the soul and the only way to bring balance into your life is to connect with your soul.
An excellent book/audio on that is Carolyn Myss's book "Entering The Castle"...Carolyn is so practical and your soul will thank you for it. I highly recommend Debbie's new book. I have read many self help books but this one is over the top. 5 stars is not enough!Get more detail about The 21-Day Consciousness Cleanse.

Red Families v. Blue Families: Legal Polarization and the Creation of Culture Right now
This book was in many ways a Rorschach Test: you see what you want to see. It was on some level interesting to read why some regions of the country had not done as well as they are predicted to. Likewise it was also interesting to read why some parts of the country had done better than they were predicted to.
This book had some interesting research on demographic trends. It seemed to be able to support its claims on how some parts of the country had increased or decreased marriage and teen pregnancy rates.
The main problem I had with this book was that it relied too heavily on political stereotypes: e.g. Democrats want more gun laws, Republicans are all opposed to keeping abortion legal, or are with the Christian Right. I can think of multiple Democrats who are generally opposed to gun restrictions, and several Democrats who want more restrictions--if not an outright ban--on abortion. There is more than one Republican who favors keeping abortion legal. This book would have been better if it didn't concern itself with what party supports what, and instead focused on the regional cultures.Get more detail about Red Families v. Low Price Frequency: The Power of Personal Vibration
This is the first book ordered from Amazon that I will sell.
For those who have been through some self-help books and trainings: this book has nothing new to offer.
Some chi - chakra - pseudo scientific quantum physics sort of terminology with lots of trendy esoteric stuff like 2012 (Mayan Calendar).
There is no new perspective in this book. It is just yet another terminology.
This book really goes on the same shelf as "The Secret". It offers slightly more depth then "The Secret" but due to its hard to oversee structure it is not easy to dig into those depths.Get more detail about Frequency: The Power of Personal Vibration.
