This book was recommended by a trainer in Philadelphia whose FB page I follow. I was always interested in lifting heavier weight, but I just didn't know if I should or not (I've been injured and I have knee problems). I've always felt a bit intimidated by it all. The gym is filled with so many machines and do-dad's, I just found workouts in books and magazines and rotated them. After reading this book and understanding the 'why' of lifting heavy weights, I was determined to start the plan. It starts with a 6 week plan that consists of 2 full-body workouts then the workouts begin to change and become more challenging. The weights go up in just a few weeks and intervals are introduced after the 6 week mark. . I think I've found my new workout bible. Easy to read and FUNNY as heck; this guy has a wonderful sense of humor and a great way of using analogies to get his point across crystal clear.
He had help from a trainer and a nutritionist on this book. The workouts are easy to follow with very clear instructions and pictures to follow. The nutritionist offers eating-well tips as well as meal plans to follow. I learned some great tips and a better understanding of some sound health and fitness concepts.
If you are new to the weight lifting or are looking to add them to your repertoire, this book is defiantly for you. I'm getting stronger each day and I'm loving it.Get more detail about The New Rules of Lifting for Women.
