I can't say enough good about this book. He presents the vegan diet in a no nonsense manner and makes it alluring and easy enough for anyone to follow, but still provides some excellent recipes for us more experienced veggie-heads. I've been a vegan for a good while, so most of the information in the book is nothing new for me personally. I will say that prior to my vegan days I was a meat eater with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes and a laundry list of health issues. Since going vegan everything that he states in his book rang true for me. My blood pressure and cholesterol came down to normal ranges and I am off my diabetic medications completely. Not only did I lose weight, but I noticed such benefits as smoother, clearer skin, I'm not as winded climbing up stairs and I feel over all much, much better... I have the energy of a teenager! Initially when I went vegan I was afraid that I would miss things like cheese and meat, but instead I have found a whole new world of food that tastes fabulous. I have sacrificed nothing! For anyone considering a transition to a Vegan diet, my recommendation is just "do it"! You're body will thank you for it. I've never looked back.
